Ikorodu North Chairman, Hon. Banjo with Toyin Gafaar ‘Bolowotan’

The air around Ikorodu North LCDA was filled with excitement yesterday, July 27, 2018 as the first edition of the Banjo Super Cup premiered.
The football event which is being hosted by the Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Adebisi Adeola Banjo kicked off at the popular Adamo Playing Ground with hundreds of youths and inhabitants turning up to cheer the teams.

The opening match of the Banjo Super Cup which held between Incredible FC and Take Something FC however ended in a 2-1 victory in favor of the former.
The modest opening ceremony had in attendance top council officials led by the Chairman himself, Hon. Adebisi Adeola Banjo, the vice Chairman, Hon. Ameen Apanishile as well as the Supervisor for Agric, Youths and Sports who is the host of the competition, Hon. Sherif Tijani amongst others.
Also at the event was a leading aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly Ikorodu Constituency 1 seat, Toyin Gafaar ‘Bolowotan’ whon tormed the event amidst cheers from supporters and admirers.
Speaking with BlackBox Nigeria, Toyin Gafaar ‘Bolowotan’, who himself is a sports enthusiast disclosed that he was excited about the competition as it will engage the youths against crimes and other vices.

“I am quite excitement over this event being somebody who has over the years spent time engaging the youths to get busy using sports as a tool. I believe the amount of time playing spent football could have been negatively utilized. Moreover competitions like this will help many of them get discovered by scouts which will open doors to opportunities in clubs within and outside the shores of Nigeria,” Bolowotan said.
Also speaking on what informed the competition, the Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon Adeola Banjo said it will effectively take many people off the streets while using their talents to do something meaningful.
