After Back To Back Wins In the Spanish La Liga Malaga Travels to the Capital To Battle Real Madrid

REAL MADRID VS MALAGA

Malaga clinched a super important 3-1 win over fellow strugglers Deportivo La Coruna to make it two victories in last three La Liga outings.

This is a major improvement compared to the horrendous kick-off to the season, but the wins over the likes of Celta and Deportivo will count for little when they come face to face against back to back Champions League winners Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos have already dropped way too many points in this term of La Liga which sees them ten points adrift of their arch-rivals Barcelona at the top of the standings.

Zinedine Zidane’s men could not break the deadlock in the last round’s Madrid derby with Atletico, but they did improve the attacking confidence in mid-week when they trashed Cypriot APOEL 0-6 on the road.

Importantly, Karin Benzema has finally managed to find the back of the net, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo who set the final score with a brace in the second-half.

Madrid should have a nice opportunity to back up the fine goal-scoring display against the Anchovies who hold the second worst defensive record with 25 conceded goals so far in the competitions.

Things look especially poor on the road where Malaga are yet to clinch their first points having lost each of seven previous matches in all competitions.

Additionally, Michel’s men have bagged no more than a single goal during the process.

Malaga have never been a tricky opposition for Real Madrid who have won 14, drawn three and lost none of their previous 17 ties with the Anchovies at Santiago Bernabeu.

Overall, Malaga managed to beat Madrid rivals only once in 34 matches and they’ve lost both of the last term’s clashes with the latter champions.
