Babangida’s ex-spokesman, Onabule dies at 82

Veteran journalist and columnist, Duro Onabule is dead.

It was gathered that Onabule, who served Chief Press Secretary to former military dictator, retired Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, breathed his last on Tuesday at the age of 82.

Onabule’s passing came 41 days to his 83rd birthday. However, details about the actual cause of his death are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

The London-trained journalist, who practised for over five decades, was the National Editor of the defunct newspaper, National Concord from 1984 to 1985. He would go on to serve as the presidential spokesman to Babangida.

Onabule also served the Chairman, Board of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA). He was described as a die-hard supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari.
