By Babajimi Benson Facilitates School Bags, Text Books For Pupils In Ikorodu Federal Constituency
As part of efforts to reduce the burden on families with children in public schools in Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Honourable Babajimi Benson yesterday, Wednesday, July 17, 2019, facilitated the donation of Mathematics and English reading textbooks and schoolbags in 19 schools across Ikorodu Division.
The textbook donations which took place in 13 primary schools and 6 Junior Secondary Schools is part of efforts to equip the schools and encourage the students to do better in the next academic session.
Speaking with BlackBox Nigeria, the Director-General of iCare Foundation, Muyideen Sanwoola said the branded school bags and textbooks facilitated by Honourable Babajimi Benson, were distributed early to ensure parents do not have to spend extra money buying the same school material.
While speaking with BBN, the Headmistress of St. John Anglican Primary school, Imota, Mrs. Morayo Oguntolu, said she is indeed impressed with the schoolbags facilitated for the pupils because it would go a long way in reducing the burden on parents in the coming academic session. Also appreciating the donation, the Chairman of the Parents Forum, Imota, Mr. Akinfolami Akinmowo, said he is not surprised at the activities of Honourable Babajimi Benson because he has always shown that he cared for the electorate. He, however, appeals to the people’s representative to come to the school aid in helping to fix a school gate in the school to keep away area touts who often use the school compound at night.
Amongst the 19 schools that benefited from the generous donations to schools in Ikorodu Federal Constituency are; Methodist Primary, Onobu, Imota, Ansarudeen Junior Secondary School, Imota, St. John Anglican Primary school, Imota, Methodist Primary School, Agura, Temidire Primary School, Ikorodu and Yewa Junior Secondary School, Ikorodu.
Other schools that benefited from the textbooks and school bags facilitation include, St. Saviour Anglican Primary, Igbaga, Ikorodu, Community Primary School, Odonla, Ikorodu, Isiu Junior secondary School, Isiu, Togede joye Primary School, Ojokoro, Ikorodu, Itowolo Primary School, Ikorodu, Community Junior High Sch, Isawo, Community Primary, Abule Eko, Ijede Luwasa junior High School, Ijede, Amadiya primary school, Ijede, Anglican Primary School, Ijede, AUD Primary School, Igbogbo, LGA Primary School, Baiyeku, and Zumratul Islamiyah Primary School, Igbogbo
The Chairman of Ikorodu Division Parents Forum, Comrade Jenrade Mokolade, while showing gratitude to Hon Babajimi Adegoke Benson for his selfless service towards the uplift of education of children in the division said the donation of reading textbooks and bags is a relief to parents.
“This laudable effort of our dear Federal Legislative representing Ikorodu Constituency is a big relief to we Parents. On behalf of the Parents of the children that benefited from those items and the entire Parents of Ikorodu Division, we say a Big Thank you to Hon Babjimi Benson and we do appreciate him a lot for his good gesture towards us as Parents both directly and indirectly.
