Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Humiliates Governor Akinwumi Ambode In A Classic Defeat, As Oshiomole Recognizes Lagos Primaries 

Following the dismissal of the purported cancellation of the Lagos State governorship primary by the Electoral Panel by the National chairman of All Progress Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomole, it is now obvious Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the flag-bearer for APC in Lagos.

The APC Lagos Chairman, Alhaji Babatunde Balogun consequently announced the results of yesterday’s APC Governorship Primaries. In the announced result the incumbent governor Akinwunmi Ambode had a total of 72,901 while is opponent in the two-men horse race, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu had 970,851.

It was gathered that Oshiomole had dismissed the cancellation during a closed door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Oshiomole said, “I told the president that the primaries held as planned and everything is being done to ensure there is no violence because democracy doesn’t flourish with violence.

“Nigerians must begin to learn how to differ in opinion and in choice without fighting; this is something people have to acquire over time.”

In his appreciation statement released immediately after the announcement, the Director General, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu Campaign Organisation (BOSCO), Mr. Tayo Ayinde, expressed gratitude to all faithful members of APC for the loyalty, commitments and determination to the party by participating in the direct gubernatorial primary election in Lagos State on the 2nd of October 2018. 

“In the same vein, we also like to appreciate the overwhelming moral supports received from non members of our great party during the exercise.

“Our sincere appreciation also goes to President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and all the leaders of our great party for holding true tenet of democracy. 

“At this juncture, it is pertinent to acknowledge the gallantry displayed by the security agencies, the cooperation of the press and exhibition of close observation by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the just concluded direct primary of our great party.

“Most importantly, we are grateful to members of the state chapter of our great party who voted for Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu en-masse during the gubernatorial primary election and making him emerge as flag-bearer of our great party for the general election in 2019. 

We urge our entire members to remain focused and work assiduously towards the general election in 2019.”
