Lagos State University graduate of Political Science, Rilwan Ayodeji Tinubu has announced his aspiration to run for the position of Chairmanship in the forthcoming 2025 elections for Lagos Mainland Local Government. This announcement, made through a letter to friends, family, and political associates, reflects Tinubu’s dedication to fostering positive change and addressing community challenges.
Central to Tinubu’s campaign is the vision of implementing a robust welfare system designed to narrow the gap between the affluent and the underprivileged. His goal is to foster inclusivity and ensure the equitable distribution of resources, creating a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Speaking to BlackBox Nigeria, Tinubu said a key pillar of his campaign is a progressive infrastructural agenda aimed at enhancing the local environment and generating employment opportunities. This agenda will particularly focus on communities such as Otto, Makoko, Otumara, and surrounding areas.
By synchronizing efforts with Governor Babajide Sanwoolu’s broader vision, Tinubu aims to contribute significantly to the overall development of Lagos State by aligning his initiatives with the THEMES agenda emphasizing critical areas such as Traffic Management and Transportation, Health and Environment, Education and Technology, Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy, and Security.
Tinubu who is a social protection specialist and was once a Social Welfare Officer with the Federal Ministry Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development expressed gratitude for the continued support and encouragement he has received. He averred that he envisions a collaborative effort to create a better future for the Lagos Mainland community. He emphasizes the values of progress, unity, and prosperity as he seeks the endorsement of the people in this transformative journey.
