JUST IN: ATIKU’S SON-IN-LAW ABDULLAHI BABALELE GRANTED N20M BAIL
Abdullahi Babalele who is said to be son-in-law of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who was arraigned before a Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday has been granted bail of N20million by presiding judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo.
Abdullahi who was earlier arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Wednesday for allegedly laundering $140,000 during the general last elections admitted to bail for N20million with one surety in like sum.
The judge ruled that the surety must reside in Lagos as well as produce evidence of means via an affidavit. Babalele was also directed to deposit his passport with the court.
Also, Atiku’s lawyer, Uyiekpen Giwa-Osaige, and who was arraigned separately by EFCC on a charge for allegedly laundering $2million is still remanded in prison pending his bail application.
