Asiwaju: The Jesus of Our Time

Asiwaju: The Jesus of Our Time

By Samuel Olalere Owoseni

There was a cry in the land for the arrival of the Messiah that would herald and channel the desired economic peace and financial glory; the people were expectant for that great move that would birth their freedom. The prophecies were coming spontaneously, yet the reality was far from happening. The land definitely knew something must be done that will change the narrative on ground but they sought to do it in their own way.

This is a brief of the story of the Jews who wanted economic tranquility, a merridose of financial grandiose and a secured economy.

This write up is a journey from the religious archive rooting from the scriptures which has made the foolish wise and the wise foolish only on the template of knowledge. The great Aristotle said: “Wisdom can be stolen when the wise is foolish not to value the wisdom he has”. I am not foolish and I know you are not.

The debate around the 2023 elections is gaining strong momentum, and many like the Jews knew there is a need for the Messianic arrival yet fought the operations and modalities of such.

Jesus is the son of God and his entry destroyed a lot of scientific bias and dissected a lot of intellectual conversations. If not so, how would the Messiah come from the family of a carpenter or how would he not use his stupendous glory to mesmerize the world by climbing down to the earth through the heavenly stairs amidst angelic voices echoing Hosanna with thunderous ovation and cherubic dance styles? The emergence of the Messiah was indeed confusing.

How well can we but describe the emergence of the man who despite the many confluence of oppositions accepted the call to become the face that will bring the desired economic glory we desire? The man has created a balance like no other person in the history of the land, forming alliances across the land, identifying men and deploying them in their best operational positions. He had sacrificed many times his will for others to strive. He managed the economic fortune of Lagos State when there was a demonic federal gang up against him. He gave Lagos a facelift with a vision, a detribalized leader and a selfless leader. These attributes if properly looked into can only be found in the man that changed the trajectory of the world: Jesus.

In substitutional mathematics, if A is equal to B and B is equal to C, then A is equal to C. Therefore if Jesus could do all of these and Asiwaju could do something similar, then from my background in mathematical culmutativity, I can without bias say “Asiwaju is a Jesus i.e., a saviour”.

Many would fight this new reality because wisdom is not cheap and sight is not for the foolish; if you can’t see the great works of Asiwaju then you definitely can’t see the great works of Jesus – a man who went about doing good and Asiwaju has indeed went around doing good.

Jesus was a son of a carpenter and a lot of folks around him knew his history but they never knew his glory. His background was never a deterninant to the glorious future ahead of him. Asiwaju is this, Asiwaju is that – what a plethora of delusional thoughts that made the people missed their season of visitation when Jesus was birthed. Jesus was this, Jesus was that; led them to gather data that clouded their reasoning. Many today desire a messiah without history to lead Nigeria to Eldorado; you are waiting for a scam.

Jesus said he will come back and we are expecting him. He will come with armies ready to do the work and cleanse the world from burdens and loads. Jesus will come back when the economic overtures of the land is worse, the lives of people insecured, people are crying of the high prices of food and there is a dire need for an intervention. Does this sound familiar?

Asiwaju left office in 2007 and he said he would be back. He is coming back with the Northern armies, Southern intellects, Eastern business moguls, the middle belt missionaries and the western ideology. Asiwaju, like Jesus, is indeed coming back to herald a new begining with precision, prosperity, peace and purpose driven leadership.

There is no expert of the future but through models of examinations and research, we can deduce the happenings of the future using parameters that matters by tapping from the past. Asiwaju has created a value system chain that has produced without noise, he created a pattern that made Lagos state self sustaining and made sure the state is not tribalized as many from diverse backgrounds and states have gotten their identity from this man. Asiwaju is a liberal man that believes in developmental projects and persons.

Jesus told his people “follow me and I will make you fishers of men” and Asiwaju is telling Nigerians “follow me and we will make Nigeria the country we would be proud of”.

Asiwaju is not here to joke, he is here to make Nigeria great again. I am in the train, don’t be left out.
