Troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly arrested a suspected bandit popularly known as “Sule Yellow,” a TikTok personality accused of flaunting suspected ransom proceeds on social media.
According to reports, Sule Yellow was intercepted by soldiers while returning to a forest hideout after allegedly collecting ransom money from the family of a kidnapped victim.
The suspect had gained notoriety on TikTok, where he reportedly built a large following by posting videos of himself displaying large sums of cash believed to be linked to ransom payments.
His online activities drew widespread attention and criticism, with many social media users accusing him of openly celebrating proceeds from criminal activities.
As of the time of filing this report, the Nigerian Army and other relevant authorities had not issued an official statement confirming the arrest or providing further details on the operation.
A video circulating online is said to show the suspect in military custody following the reported arrest.
