APC Ikorodu North In Disarray As Aspirants Ignore Reconciliation Meeting

As the July 22, 2017,  date for the Lagos State Local Government elections draws near, all seems not well in Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area as aspirants are still at each other’s jugular.

In the bid to rally support behind the APC Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area anointed candidate,  Hon. Adeola Adebisi Banjo,BlackBox Nigeria gathered that a stakeholders meeting was called on June 20, 2017, at White House, Odogunyan, Ikorodu, with the aim of uniting all aggrieved parties but the meeting further put the parties apart.

While prominent leaders of the Party and some notable stakeholders and friends of the party’s candidate Hon Adeola Adebisi Banjo, were in attendance, the aggrieved parties boycotted the meeting under the pretense that they were not duly invited.

In a statement however made available to BBN, a former Council Chairman, Hon. Adeola Jokomba,  who is also the Reconciliation Committee Secretary,  said all parties were duly informed.

He noted that the message sent to every aspirant and stakeholder reads in part, “you are cordially invited to a crucial meeting of Our great party, All Progressives Congress  ,Ikorodu North.

“The meeting is scheduled to hold on Tuesday the 20th of June,2017 at the residence of Our foremost Leader,  Alhaji Akibu Adewunmi by 10:00 am. “

Jokomba noted at the meeting that the  gathering was aimed at uniting all aspirants and see to resolving personal political disagreement amongst all members, noting it is however immature for some chairmanship aspirants and few councillorship aspirants not to attend the reconciliation meeting after they had received the invite,  instead they formed alliance and met at another venue with the aim of going against party’s interest.

While calling on all members to work for the interest of APC, Hon. Olasunkanmi Tijanu shared his experiences of contesting with Hon. Abike Dabiri and Hon. Babajimi Benson respectively without causing any trouble when he didn’t get the ticket but keep supporting the party. He advised against unnecessary dissent against APC’s position.

The meeting had in attendance amongst others;  Alh. Akibu Adewunmi, LGA Secretary, Hon. Olasunkanmi Tijani, Hon. Adeola Jokomba, Alh. Fayas Sulaimon, Hon. Jimoh Odidi.

Others in attendance were, Hon. Olawale Ameen (Apanishile), APC councillorship candidates, and councillorship aspirants.
