The Diaspora Sub-Committee of the Lagos State APC PBAT-KOH Campaign has urged Nigerians living abroad to mobilise their families, friends and communities in Nigeria to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The committee’s call comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is scheduled to commence the collection of PVCs at designated offices from October 9, 2026.

Engr. Gbolahan Gbadamosi, leader of the Lagos State APC PBAT-KOH Campaign Sub-Committee: Diaspora, made the call after the committee’s virtual meeting held via Zoom on Friday night.

Gbadamosi described PVC collection as an important step for eligible Nigerians seeking to participate in the 2027 elections, urging Nigerians in the diaspora to use their networks to encourage relatives and associates at home to collect their cards.

He said diaspora Nigerians should extend their political engagement beyond conversations abroad by regularly communicating with their families, friends and communities in Nigeria about the need to complete the PVC collection process.

“Every eligible voter back home should be encouraged to collect their PVC. Our friends, families and communities must be reminded that having a valid PVC is an essential part of participating in the electoral process,” Gbadamosi said.

He particularly urged Nigerians whose relatives had previously registered but were yet to collect their voter cards to remind them to visit the appropriate INEC-designated offices from October 9.

According to him, diaspora Nigerians can play a significant role in voter awareness by ensuring that electoral information reaches people at the grassroots, especially those who may not regularly follow political developments.

Gbadamosi also urged eligible voters to verify electoral information through official INEC channels and comply with the commission’s guidelines on PVC collection.

He said the mobilisation was part of the broader voter-engagement efforts of the Lagos State APC PBAT-KOH Campaign Sub-Committee: Diaspora ahead of the 2027 elections.

He therefore called on Nigerians abroad to make PVC collection a regular message in their conversations with relatives, friends and associates in Nigeria, stressing that electoral participation requires eligible voters to be properly registered and obtain their voter cards.
