By Having to sacrifice one’s personal aspirations in respect of the choice of one’s political party is perhaps the true test of loyalty for every politician. This was the case of Comrade Olusegun Dada, an aspirant for the position of National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dada, who had ran an extensive campaign, was made to eat the humble pie at the party’s National Convention held on Saturday in Abuja.
As seen in a now-viral video, the visibly emotional aspirant stepped down from the race while fighting his tears — a strong indication of how dejected he must have felt.
Dada’s decision to withdraw his aspiration at the last minute is said to be unconnected with the endorsement of Dayo Isreal by the leadership of the Lagos APC led by the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. The party had also made a consensus arrangement for all positions as contained in its unity list.
