After tearful withdrawal from race, APC National Youth Leader aspirant Dada submits to will of the party

It appears an aspirant for the position of the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Olusegun Dada who tearfully withdrew his aspiration at the party’s just-concluded National Convention has resigned to fate.

BlackBox Nigeria had reported how Dada, amid tears, stepped down from the race in submission to the consensus arrangement of the party which produced Dayo Isreal as the preferred candidate for the position.

Taking to his Twitter page on Sunday, the young politician described his withdrawal as “a clear indication that the party will always be supreme”.

He also appreciated members of his campaign team for their efforts and expressed his best wishes to the new National Youth Leader.

Read his full statement below:

“I will like to thank everyone for their massive support since we began this journey in 2020 consulting key stakeholders, reaching out to youth organizations, groups and forums under our great party, the All Progressives Congress; informing them of our plans for the youth wing of the party.

“What happened few hours ago at the Eagle Square is a clear indication that the party will always be supreme. No aspiration is bigger than the party hence my stepping aside to ensure the party exercise her most preferred mechanism in selecting the youth leader of the party as well as other positions in the party structure via consensus.

“I deeply appreciate everyone who has supported this cause in their very important ways. My profound gratitude goes out to my team for running an issue based campaign especially our policy plans and implementation; your sleepless nights counts a lot, I am very proud of you all.

“Every political event exposes one to superior arguments and decision making, yet I will not relent fighting for the interests of the youths within the confines of my capacity. I am humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

“I wish the new National Youth Leader of our great party the very best. Thank you very much and this is just the beginning.”
