The All Progressives Congress caucus at the National Assembly today unseated Senator Ali Ndume as Senate Leader.
This was contained in a statement read on the floor during the plenary session.
He was immediately replaced with Senator Ahmad Lawan.
However, Senator Ndume who was absent at tw plenary session said the news was a shock to him.
The Borno State Lawmaker said he was surprised to hear he was no longer the Senate Leader.
He told newsmen after plenary: “I don’t know whether I have been removed as the Senate Leader.
“This announcement came to me as a surprise.”
