By There seem to be a fresh battle for the real leader of all Yoruba Obas as Olugbo of Ugbo land in Ondo State, Oba Obateru Akinrutan is currently parading himself as the traditional ruler with highest authority across all the Yoruba race.
The business tycoon cum traditional ruler made this fresh claim in Ibadan as he prepares for the publication of his second book. He disclosed that his first book had explained how Oduduwa met his forebears in Ife.
Oba Akinrutan disclosed that if the Yorubas believe Ife to be their source, then he was no doubt the real leader of the race as he speaks with thunder in his mouth.
It will be recalled that several Yoruba rulers have being at battle with each other on who the real leader is since the passing on to glory of the 50th Ooni of Ife, Alayeluwa Oba Okunade Sijuade Olubuse II.
The emergence of young entrepreneur, Alayeluwa Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II as the 51st Ooni has since waken some prominent traditional rulers to battle for the supreme position from the youthful monarch.
Despite the motives of some traditional rulers to rank themselves above him, the newly installed Ooni has been extending a hand of friendship to all as he has declared plans to rebuild the bonds and ties with all in the race. He has since visited some rulers in their palaces, a development that came when he ascended the throne.
