As Anambra goes to poll to elect Governor
Despite threats by IPOB of violence if elections are held, the people of Anambra state at the moment have started trooping out to decide who occupies the Government house next.
There is however palpable fear following a bomb scare in Onitsha earlier on BlackBox Nigeria has learnt. The Inspector General of Police have however deployed 26,000 Police personnel to ensure peace and orderliness during the polls. This is in addition to 300 hilux vehicles released for operations.
Although there are about 37 candidates running for Governor today, observers have disclosed that the run is a 3-house race between incumbent, Willie Obiano of APGA, Tony Nwoye of the APC and the former SSG, Oseluka Obaze who is the PDP candidate. Others who might be out to pull a surprise are Godwin Ezemuo of the PPA and the former boss of Federal Road Safety Corps, Osita Chidoka of the UPP whom many have described as a joker in today’s election.
BlackBox Nigeria can also confirm that voting has already taken off and Governor Obiano has casted his vote.
