The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Wednesday, declared a former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Charles Chukwuma Soludo, as winner of the just-concluded governorship election in Anambra State.
The returning officer for the election who is also the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi made the announcement shortly after concluding the supplementary election in Ihiala Local Government Area which took place on Tuesday.
Soludo polled 112,229 votes to defeat his two major rivals: Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who got 53,807 votes, and Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who emerged third with 43,285 votes.
