Amid allegations of anti-party activities, Orji Kalu voids vote for APC

Abia North Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has again made headlines for the wrong reasons after he voided his vote for the ruling party at the ongoing presidential elections.

Kalu, who is the Senate Chief Whip, earlier today shared a picture of himself holding his ballot paper after casting his vote for the APC, which violates the provisions of the Electoral Act.

But a closer look at the ballot paper shows that the Senator’s thumbprint crossed the alloted space for the party logo. This automatically means that his vote is void.

The picture has since gone viral on social media, with many Nigerians mocking Kalu for making such an avoidable errror.

Recall the Senate Chip had been mired in controversies after he was reportedly suspended by the Abia APC for alleged anti-party activities owing to his support for his younger brother, Mascot Uzor Kalu, who is vying for the gubernatorial race under the platform of Action People’s Party.

The Abia APC spokesperson has, however, denied the claims.
