By Ambode won’t be attending Sanwo-Olu’s inauguration
Outgoing Lagos Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode won’t be attending the inauguration of his successor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu BlackBox Nigeria has gathered.
His decision not to attend however isn’t out of prejudice as the Governor has revealed that he doesn’t want to outshine Sanwo-Olu on his big day.
It would be recalled that Ambode yesterday, formally handed over to Sanwo-Olu at the Alausa seat of power in what he described as a “cordial and convivial ceremony”.

“I have already formally handed over reigns of power in the state to the new governor in a most cordial and convivial ceremony at the State House yesterday,” Ambode said through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna.
He said further, “The formal inauguration should have Mr Sanwo-Olu as the star of the day. I don’t think that glory should be shared with him by my presence.”
