Akpabio’s Latest Moves Threatens PDP’s Latest Victory
All may not be well with the nation’s main opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party, even with the recent defection of high ranking political office holders, BlackBox Nigeria can report.
BBN reliably gathered from source in Abuja that recent meetings of Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio with the Presidency may have ended the victory party of the PDP as the former Akwa Ibom Governor have met with both President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, separately in the last three days.
It will be recalled that PDP made waves in the media on Tuesday, July 31st when the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki announced his defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress to the PDP. He was immediately followed by his State Governor, Abdulfatai Ahmed and National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi. But recent developments suggest that moves by Senator Akpabio could thwart the plots of PDP to unseat President Buhari in the next General Elections.
Another source in Abuja disclosed that about 5 Senators are set to defect along with Senator Akpabio just as the news of Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State of possible defection is making waves.
More updates shortly.
