After spending some months in Germany for medical treatment, the Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has come back to Nigeria.
He is currently staying in his personal residence in Ibadan, Oyo State, according to the Ondo State Majority Leader, Mr Wole Ogunmolasuyi.
According to Mr Ogunmolasuyi, the governor arrived in Abuja and then proceeded to Ibadan.
The governor’s wife, Betty, had earlier announced his homecoming on her X (formerly Twitter) account. She posted a photo of him in an aeroplane with the caption “Homebound” and a house emoji.
A source close to the governor also confirmed that he would be in Ibadan for a few days before resuming his official duties in Ondo State.
The source said, “He will make everything official tomorrow (Friday).”
Governor Akeredolu had delegated his authority to his deputy, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, before leaving for Germany.
He had also notified the Ondo State House of Assembly about his medical vacation.
His Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, had issued a statement last week stating that the governor was still recovering in Germany and that his return would be widely publicised.
