By The Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Mayor Dele Oshinowo, on Thursday, flagged off the second edition of the Trader Support Scheme targeted at helping petty traders.
The cash disbursement exercise which witnessed the distribution of the sum of N50,000 each in cheque to 100 beneficiaries, touched four markets; starting with Thomas Laniyan Market, Ajegunle, Erunkan Market, Kosofe, Owoseni Market, Mile 12 and Alapere Market, Alapere.
Speaking after the disbursement, Mayor Dele Oshinowo noted that the economic development programme was geared towards providing support for petty traders to improve their businesses.
The Chairman explained that the selection of the beneficiaries was done transparently in a random manner to ensure the cash grants get to the right individuals.
In a show of appreciation, the beneficiaries commended the council boss for always putting them in his administration’s focus, while promising to make good use of the cash grants.
