Again, Rep. Babajimi Benson Feeds 500 Households In Ikorodu

The lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and Chairman House Committee on Defence, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has once again doled out food items to another 500 households through his iCARE Foodbank programme.

On Saturday, May 8, the beneficiaries were presented with these consumables at the lawmaker’s constituency office along Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu.

The iCARE Foodbank is an initiative of Hon. Benson’s iCare Foundation that distributes, on monthly basis, food and grocery products to individuals and vulnerable families within Ikorodu Division. These items are packaged in a bag called ‘APO AANU’.

Speaking after the event, Rep. Benson revealed that the monthly food distribution has fed over 25,000 families since its commencement in August 2015.

“This monthly gesture of iCARE Foodbank is beyond giving food items to the needy, it’s equally to personally convey the much needed complimentary message of hope and assurances that representation must pass to the people at a very trying moment,” he said.

Some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, who were present at the event, hailed the lawmaker for his kind gesture and people-inclined initiatives.

In his remarks, a member of Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC, and the former SSG, Lagos State, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, applauded Rep. Babajimi Benson, for the unflinching love and care he has for his constituents, while charging the youths of Ikorodu to emulate the lawmaker.

Also, a former Senator and former Works and Housing Minister, Senator Seye Ogunlewe commended the gesture of the federal lawmaker, noting that the responsibility of being an effective legislator is not an easy task.

“I urge all our Council Chairmen in Ikorodu Division to emulate the good act of Rep. Benson, because he has been doing wonderfully and exceedingly great, even beyond what he ought to do,” Ogunlewe said.

Similarly, a former Acting Commissioner for Housing in Lagos State, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola lauded the iCare Food Bank for its consistency in reaching out to the vulnerable.

She equally praised Hon Benson’s commendable efforts in the areas of road rehabilitation, reconstruction of schools, health centres and many others, across Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
