Again, rapper Oladips blasts former label boss Reminisce in new diss track

Barely 24 hours after legendary Nigerian rapper, Reminisce released a new single ‘Alaye To Seh Gogo’ ahead of his sixth studio album with the same title, his former signee, Oladips has called him out in a new track.

The single ‘Alaye Toh N Kpo Zobo’ is a diss to Reminisce as the up-and-coming singer again mentioned his controversial signing to the former’s LRR Record label and his eventual exit.

The now-complicated relationship of the duo dates back to 2019 when Oladips terminated his contract. The fast-rising rapper would later narrate his experience with his former label in a single, ‘Maybe’.

In the song, Oladips claimed that his then boss, Reminisce made life hell for him, adding that the label took advantage of him and cut him off after making money from his talent.

The legendary rapper, however, told his side of the story, saying Oladips wanted to leave LRR Records and he granted his request almost immediately to avoid drama.

Feeding responses during a Clubhouse session with fans, Baba Hafusa declared that he had no issues with his enstranged protégé.

“As for me, I’m cool with him, I don’t have any problem with him. As you can clearly see, I am a barrack, soldier goes, soldier come,” the music executive said at the time.

Now, Oladips has reopened old wounds with his new diss, fueling a fresh conversation on the messy relationship between music acts and their record labels — a recurring feature of the Nigerian music industry.
