Though Otedola who now as 34, 900 Followers said social media isn’t exactly his forte, he seems to be learning fast as he has been battling with parody accounts trying to patch  him against Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode and also scam innocent Nigerians with dubious job offers.

“My attention has been drawn to a news piece where false information from  a parody account was posted. I am a man of the people and I will always be on the side of the masses but I am stating clearly via this medium that I am not running for office, “ he tweeted yesterday debunking rumours he might be considering running for Lagos State Governor’s seat. In his view, “the Governor of Lagos State is doing a commendable job and Lagosians should be proud of him.”

A pinned tweet, warns followers to be wry of impersonators while clarifying the near similarity in the Twitter accounts, “Please beware of impersonators that may try to leverage on my profile. My handle is @realFemiOtedola using the small letter for “L” in real. I just blocked an impersonator that used the capital letter for “i” in real which, when put side by side, look identical. Please beware.”

He stated further that, “Fake accounts in my name have to have the word “parody” in their bio/profile to exist. @verified has recently paused verifications so, until I get the blue tick, please always ensure to read the bio/profile section of accounts that appear to be mine.”
