The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has confirmed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has completed payment for the party’s presidential nomination form ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Atiku, a prominent figure within the party, received his payment receipt following the transaction, which was concluded on May 8, 2026.
The development was announced on Saturday via a statement shared on the ADC’s official X account.
According to the party, Atiku’s move signals a significant step in its preparations for the upcoming presidential contest.
“A New Chapter in Nigeria’s Democratic Journey,” the statement read.
“H.E. Atiku Abubakar, GCON, has officially received his payment receipt to contest under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 Presidential Election.”
The ADC described the development as a key moment in what it called a growing movement focused on national renewal, democratic inclusion, and people-oriented leadership.
It added that the party remains committed to offering Nigerians a viable alternative anchored on unity, competence, economic recovery, improved security, and national development.
The party also disclosed that the formal presentation of nomination forms to Atiku is scheduled to take place on Monday at its National Secretariat in Abuja.
“The movement is growing. Hope is rising. Expect more,” the statement added.
