By Unknown gumen have murdered Ishaya Bakano, the Deputy Leader of Song Local Government Legislative Council in Adamawa State.
According to reports, the armed assaliants broke into the home of the 60-year-old lawmaker located in Bannga in the early hours of Saturday, and opened fire.
The spokesperson of the Adamawa State Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje confirmed the incident.
He said the police received a report at around 1am on Saturday that the home of the politician had been invaded by some unknown gunmen.
Nguroje stated that Bakano was found in a pool of his blood, when the policemen arrived the scene. He was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The son of the deceased was also said to have been shot, and have since been hospitalized.
The police spokesperson added that the security agencies are currently on the trail of the suspected gunmen.
