Adamawa Labour Party governorship candidate abandons Peter Obi, runs to Tinubu

Just few hours to the presidential election, the gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party (LP) in Adamawa State, Umar Madawaki, has dumped the presidential candidate of his party, Peter Obi and collapsed his structure to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Mustapha, who has been estranged from his the leadership of his Labour Party at both the state and national levels for a while, formally severed relationship with the party at a ceremony Thursday evening in Yola.

According to Sahara Reporters, in a ceremony organised by the APC, he said that although he remained in the Adamawa State governorship race under the Labour Party, he is not supporting the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

His words: “It is in the light of all these that we entered into discussions with APC and after exhaustive negotiations, we have decided to collapse our entire structure into the APC structure for the presidential elections.

“I call on all my supporters, therefore, to go to the polls come Saturday and overwhelmingly vote Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
