Is Adam Mohammed Next IGP?

Is Adam Mohammed Next IGP?

It has been a back and forth between the Presidency, media and the public over the appointment of a new inspector general of police.

With the 60 years compulsory retirement of the current inspector general of police, Ibrahim Abubakar and the announcement of Adamu Mohammed as the next in line and acting inspector general of police there have been news in the air that Adamu has been confirmed to be the next inspector general of police.

However, the media handlers of the president when asked the fate of Adamu kept mute and has refused to clear the air on the true status of the police boss.

Adamu has Served as the Commissioner Of Police in Enugu State and currently the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone Five, in Benin ,Edo State.

Mr Mohammed was born on November 9, 1961. He enlisted in the police in 1986. He has a bachelor in geography.

He was at one time a director of peacekeeping operations. He is a former police commissioner in Enugu and was an AIG in charge Zone 5.

He is currently a directing staff member at the National Institute of policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.

His elevation would imminently see several deputy inspector-general purged from service, an exercise that would be reminiscent of how Mr Buhari sacked DIGs when he named Mr Idris as IG in June 2016.
