Abia Crisis: Atiku Calls On All Sides To Stop Escalating Situation, Advises Governors
Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has called for calm in Abia State as crisis continues to rock the State which is a stronghold of the South East geo-political zone. He called on all the aggrieved sides to restrain from aggression as he urged them to dialogue so as to reach a peaceful compromise.
He made this call via a message he shared on his Facebook page. He also advised all the Governors involved to hold meeting with stakeholders so as to maintain calm in the region.
He said, “I join my party, the APC to call for restraint from all sides in the aggression happening in Abia State. We hear each other better if we speak peacefully. Everyone, please stop escalating the situation. Let us dialogue and listen to each other.
“I appreciate our governors both North & South, for their efforts to maintain calm. Meeting with stakeholders is important & should continue.”
It will be recalled that tension returned to the Zone after the troops in an operation tagged Python Dance II who were on show of force parade had a clash with some members of the Indigenous People of Biafra on Sunday, September 10th close to the residence of Nnamdi Kanu, the National Leader of the agitating group.
