AAU student commits suicide over N.5m lost to investment scam

The Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma in Edo State has ordered an investigation into the sudden death of a 500-Level student of the institution.

The female student, simply identified as Ochuko, reportedly took her own life after losing the sum of N500,000. 00 to internet scam, according to dependable sources on the University’s Campus.

It was learnt that the undergraduate who died outside the school’s Campus, left a suicide note.

Some students of the institution have penned tributes on AAU online portal and other social media platforms in honour of the departed student who didn’t request for psychological support.

According to TheNewspad, the Public Relations officer of AAU, Mr. Larry Isiraojie, said he is “yet to be fully briefed on the issue”, which has set tongues wagging.

But Isiraojie, assured that “interface on what may have happened is still ongoing”.

He also did not give further details on the tragedy, occurred recently.

Spokesman of the Nigeria police Command in Edo State, SP. Chidi Nwabuzor could not be reached at the time of filing the report.
