A year after surviving kidney cancer, Nollywood actor Karibi Fubara dies

Death has again crept into the Nigerian movie industry following the passing of actor Karibi Fubara.

The movie star’s sister, Aya Eneli took to her Twitter page on Wednesday, to announce his death. She wrote, “My brother, Karibi Fubara, has joined the ancestral realm. I’m devastated, but not hopeless. He lived fully and with joy. Left a great body of work. Will be a powerful ancestor. I love you, #ChiefBlack. I do not own the rights to this song.”

Fubara had sometime in 2020 disclosed that how he found out he had a kidney tumor/cancer and had a successful surgery.

The late actor rose to stardom after he starred in ‘Before 30’. He also won the hearts of many fans with his appearances in several blockbuster movies such as God Calling, Quam’s Money, Castle and Castle, Royal Hibiscus Hotel, and most recently, Smart Money Woman.

Until his death, he was married to celebrity fashion entrepreneur, Yolanda Okereke.
