A former General Manager of the Katsina State Television (KTTV), Ahmed Abdulkadir, and his teenage daughter have been abducted by a group of suspected gunmen.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, as the gunmen stormed Shema Quarters, in the Bakori council area.

According to The Guardian, the gunmen possessed sophisticated weapons and fired sporadically, scaring away residents before whisking Abdulkadir and his daughter away.

The newspaper reported that the assailants abducted three people and moved them to a thick forest reserve known as a hideout for bandits and criminals.

Abdulkadir is a retired director at National Broadcast Commission (NBC) having practiced journalism for several years.

It is unclear at this point in time, if the abductors have contacted the family members.

Recall that gunmen abducted the wife and children of a state House of Assembly member representing the area, Dr. Ibrahim Kurami, less than a week ago.
