A suicide case, on Friday, was reported in the Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka, Anambra State.
It was gathered that a 200 level student of the Industrial Physics department committed suicide due to his inability to pay his school fees, despite his efforts to get the funds which proved abortive.
According to reports, the said student hailed from Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
“The deceased locked himself inside the room and when the door was broken, he was seen dangling with a rope around his neck,” an eyewitness who pleaded anonymity said.
Another person said, “He was a very calm and gentle student who have never show signs of depression or depression related signs.”
Meanwhile, the Chief Security Officer of the school, Mr Ken Chukwura, has assured the students to continue with their daily normal routines as the matter is under investigation, adding that the truth will be revealed soon.
