2019 Budget Projections Is Taking Nigerians Nowhere- Donald Duke

The embattled presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Donald Duke, has expressed worry over the budget of continuity presented by president Buhari yesterday to the joint sitting of the National Assembly (NASS).

The former governor of Cross River state who took to his Twitter account immediately after the President’s presentation to express his worries over the delayed presentation, projections on which the budget is predicated, tagged it unrealistic enough to delivered on its promises.

His Tweet “Submitting a budget in December for 2019, assuming an oil price of $60 when current prices are mid $50’s, forecasting oil production at 2.3m a day when this years average is 1.9m tells us these folk in government are taking us nowhere.”

It is noteworthy that Donald Duke is no longer the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as a result of Friday’s Federal High Court’s judgement in Abuja that declared Jerry Gana the rightful presidential candidate. The judgement was as a result of zoning in the party’s constitution that the presidential candidate and party chairman should not be from the same geopolitical zone. Donald Duke is yet to challenge this judgement.

However, his post has been generating myriads of comments on the social media space.
