One Praise Emeka, 5, was lost to a fire incident which broke out on Friday, at No. 4, Ben Okonkwo Okonkwo, in Igando area of Lagos state.
The Igando police station and fire service were however, able to rescue other occupants of the building and prevented the fire from escalating.
The Igando police station had received a distress call about an inferno at the said address.
The immediate and remote cause of the fire outbreak could not be ascertained at press time.
The Force Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, however, said investigations are ongoing necessary to ascertain the cause.
