A 40 year-old woman, Abiye Friday has been allegedly killed by his co-tenant, Abidemi Oguntuyi in an attempt to make peace at Ibaka quarters, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State.
According to a source, in an attempt to settle an argument between him and his brother, the 20 year old guy stabbed the victim in her neck.
According to a report, there’s an argument between the two siblings, and while making an effort to settle it, it resulted in her death.
A relative disclosed, “The argument degenerated into a scuffle and in the process, the suspect took a knife and stabbed Abiye severally in the neck and chest. Neighbours rushed her to a nearby hospital in the area where she was certified dead.”
The suspect has been arraigned before the Akure Magistrate’s Court on two-count charge of murder and attempted murder.
Simon Wada, the Police prosecutor told the court to remand the accused at the Olokuta prison as regards the advice from the Director of Public Prosecution, (DPP).
However, the trial Magistrate, D. S Sekoni said that the accused should be kept in police custody till the ruling on the remand application.
Sekoni adjourned the case till October 7, 2022, for a ruling.
