The 3rd Ghetto Tigers FC awards are set to take place on the 2nd of January 2022 at Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye council hall, town planning way, Ilupeju, Lagos State.
The grassroots club which was established in the year 2018 has both a male and women team in their ranks and uses Nitel ground, Oshodi as their designation home ground has risen to be a toast for young lads who are eager to take up football as a career.
The 3rd Ghetto Tigers FC awards promise to be an intriguing one as players battle it out in about 12 categories, which are the female player of the year, male player of the year, forward of the year, best goal of the year, goalkeeper of the year, midfielder of the year, U15 player of the year, U8 player of the year, foreign player of the year, best defender of the year and U13 player of the year.
Having the highest number of nomination is young technical forward, Yakub Shamsu, who have won over 5 player of the month for the year 2021 and he has a total of 4 nominations, which is the player of the year, goal of the year, forward of the year and U15 player of the year.
John Fayemi won the best male player of the year 2020 but couldn’t make the nomination list for this year awards as other players have outshined him in the year 2021.
Rofiat Ewetade won the female player of the year at the last edition of the awards and will be hoping to defend her title as queen of Ghetto Tigers FC.
The chairman of the day of the awards is the executive chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Honourable Rasaq Ajala, who has been terrific to the development of sport in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA and the vice chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Honourable Seyi Jakande will be the chief host of the awards ceremony.
The secretary of Lagos State Football Coaches Association (LSFCA), Mr . Rasheed Suleiman will also be present at the awards ceremony as other well-known dignitaries will be at the awards.
