Natasha Osawaru, fiancée of Nigerian music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has been removed as Deputy Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly following a leadership shake-up triggered by the defection of four PDP lawmakers to the APC.

Osawaru, who represents Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was replaced by Hon. Addeh Isibor (Esan Northeast I). The shake-up also saw the replacement of Majority Leader Charity Aiguobarueghian and Chief Whip Yekini Idaiye with APC lawmakers Jonathan Aigbokhan (Esan West) and Mustapha Lecky (Etsako West I), respectively.

Despite the changes, Speaker Blessing Agbebaku and Deputy Speaker Maria Edeko, both PDP members, retained their positions.

The APC gained majority control of the 24-member House after the defection of Hon. Donald Okugbe, Bright Iyamu, Richard Edosa, and Sunday Ojezele. The party’s chairman, Jarret Tenebe, had formally requested the replacement of PDP leaders in key positions.
