The Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello has disclosed that Governors Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and Babagana Zulum of Kano and Borno States respectively, Chairman/CEO of Nigeria In Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa and three other eminent personalities will be conferred with honorary doctorate degree awards during the institution’s 25th convocation ceremony.
The LASU VC noted that the other 3 dignitaries to be honoured are Professor Peter Akinsola Okebukola OFR, who will be conferred with the rank of Emeritus Professor, Chairman of Ikeja Hotel Plc, Mr Goodie Ibru (OON) and Founder/CEO, The Chair Centre Group, Mrs Ibukunoluwa Abiodun Awosika.
Prof. Olatunji-Bello made this known during a press conference held at the Senate Building on Wednesday, unveiling Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari as the chairman of the occasion.
She also confirmed the recipients of the rank of Emeritus Professor and honorary doctorate degrees.
In her words, “The Rank of Emeritus Professor will be conferred on Distinguished Professor Peter Akinsola Okebukola, OFR while Honorary Doctorate Degree Awards will be conferred in no particular order, on the following eminent personalities.

Governor of Kano State; His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara ZULUM,
Governor of Borno State; Hon. Abike DABIRI-EREWA, Chairman/CEO, Nigeria in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abuja.
“Mr. Goodie IBRU, OON, Chairman Ikeja Hotel Plc Lagos and; Mrs. Ibukunoluwa Abiodun AWOSIKA Founder/CEO, The Chair Centre Gro up, Lekki, Lagos, Former Chairman First Bank, Plc, Former LASU Governing Council Member.”
The LASU VC also urged members of the press to ensure due coverage of all events lined up for the varsity’s 25th convocation ceremony which kicked off with the press conference.
