APC leaders and political stakeholders in the United Kingdom have urged Nigerians in the diaspora to mobilise their families, friends and eligible voters in Nigeria to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The call was made during a diaspora engagement involving Engineer Gbolahan Gbadamosi, Leader of the Lagos State APC PBAT-KOH Campaign Sub-Committee on Diaspora, and Comrade Dr. Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Railway Corporation.

The engagement was part of efforts to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid and the political ambitions of Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, ahead of the 2027 elections.

Representing Gbadamosi at the gathering, Rilwan Tinubu conveyed the campaign’s message, urging Nigerians abroad to use their family and community networks to encourage eligible voters back home to participate in the electoral process.

Those present included APC UK Chairman, Hon. Tunde Doherty; Chairman of the Lagos APC UK Chapter, Hon. Tayo Shodiende; Hon. Dr. Femi Adekanmbi, Managing Director of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority; and Dr. Olusola Odusanya, Director-General of the National Centre for Technology Management.

The campaign urged diaspora Nigerians to speak with their children, relatives, friends and associates in Nigeria about the importance of voter registration and PVC collection, stressing that eligible voters must take the necessary steps to exercise their democratic rights.

The gathering also provided an opportunity for APC stakeholders to canvass support for Tinubu’s re-election and Hamzat’s political emergence ahead of the next general elections.

The initiative reflects the campaign’s efforts to engage Nigerians abroad and use diaspora networks to strengthen political mobilisation at the grassroots level.

Nigeria’s 2027 general elections are expected to generate increased political activity as parties and aspirants intensify efforts to build support ahead of the polls.
