2027 Elections: APC Unveils Full Timetable, Legs Presidential Form for N100million

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its comprehensive schedule of activities and fees for the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates for primaries, screening processes and the cost of nomination forms, with the presidential ticket pegged at N100 million.

In a notice issued from its National Secretariat, the party said the timetable aligns with the 1999 Constitution (as amended), the Electoral Act 2026 and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revised schedule for the polls.

According to the document signed by the National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the process formally begins on Monday, April 20, 2026, with the issuance of a notice of election to state chapters. Sale of nomination forms at the party’s national secretariat is scheduled to run from Saturday, April 25 to Saturday, May 2, while the deadline for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents is Monday, May 4.

Screening of aspirants for State Houses of Assembly, the House of Representatives, Senate and governorship positions will take place from Wednesday, May 6 to Friday, May 8, while the presidential screening is fixed for Saturday, May 9.

The party will publish the results of the screening exercise across all categories on Monday, May 11, followed by screening appeals from Tuesday, May 12 to Wednesday, May 13.

Primary elections are slated to begin with the presidential contest from Friday, May 15 to Saturday, May 16. The House of Representatives primary will hold on Monday, May 18, followed by the Senate on Wednesday, May 20, State Houses of Assembly on Thursday, May 21 and governorship primaries on Saturday, May 23.

Appeals arising from the primaries will be heard shortly after, starting with the presidential category on Monday, May 18, House of Representatives on Wednesday, May 20, Senate on Thursday, May 21, State Houses of Assembly on Saturday, May 23 and governorship on Monday, May 25.

The party also released the cost of participation, fixing the expression of interest and nomination forms for State House of Assembly aspirants at N1 million and N5 million respectively, bringing the total to N6 million.

House of Representatives aspirants are to pay N1 million for expression of interest and N9 million for nomination, totalling N10 million, while Senate aspirants will pay N3 million and N17 million respectively, amounting to N20 million.

Governorship aspirants are expected to pay N10 million for expression of interest and N40 million for nomination, totalling N50 million.

For the presidential ticket, aspirants will pay N30 million for expression of interest and N70 million for nomination, bringing the total cost to N100 million.

The APC added that female aspirants, youths and persons with disabilities will only pay for the expression of interest forms and 50 per cent of the nomination fees for their respective positions.
