Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rohr has called upon retired forward, Odion Ighalo for the last two World Cup Qualifying matches against Lone Stars of Liberia and Blue Sharks of Cape Verde.
With Oshimen out injured, Rohr had to faced with the responsibility of filling the void left by the Napoli goal poacher.
The German, despite his reluctance to rush into selection, decided to include Odion Ighalo into his 24-man list.
Ighalo, who retired from international team to focus on club football, currently ply his trade with Al Shabab Riyadh of Saudi Arabia.
Aside his commitment to club football, the forward also mentioned the need for the younger ones to have a chance in the national team as another reason he quit.
Indeed, his retirement had seen the likes of Victor Oshimen, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Alex Iwobi all taking up the responsibility of spearheading the national team.
But the absence of Super Eagles’ talisman, Oshimen, now put Ighalo up to respond to the clarion call.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles are to face Liberia at Grand Stade Tagier, Morocco on the 13th, November while they wrap up their Qualifier campaign against Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Tuesday, 16th November.
The Eagles are currently top of the table with nine points. They only need a win from the last two fixtures to qualify for the World Cup.
With the international break fast approaching, the Super Eagles manager has shortlisted his players for the last two games.
The list includes the likes of Ahmed Musa, Wilfred Ndidi- who is currently injured, and other stars.
