10years After, Big Brother Returns To Nigeria

The sought after Nigerian Reality Television Show, Big Brother Nigeria ( Now Big Brother Naija) is back after Ten years hiatus. This announcement was made known by Mr John Ugbe, the Managing Director of Multi choice nigeria.‎

The TV reality show which produces notable stars like Africa Magic’s Tinsel actor, Gideon Okeke, and TV personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Katung Aduwak according to Ugbe is coming back based on popular demand by teeming followers who wanted it back on screen and it will be aired on dedicated event channels on DStv and GOtv.

Ugbe, while introducing the re invention and re branding of the show said, the show has been re branded and part of the re branding effort is the name being changed from Big Brother Nigeria to Big Brother Naija.‎

In his words, he said,

“The show has been well developed following the successes of past seasons of Big Brother Africa. ‎The Big Brother Africa is popular for its entertainment value and ability to showcase ordinary Africans from different walks of life. ‎It is one of the ways the company is enhancing quality and varieties of contents available on its platforms. We decided to re-invent BBA, the reality show, once again by bringing back the Nigerian version. ‎We are confident that it will draw pan-African audiences for the same reasons that Big Brother Africa did.”‎

The First edition of the show was won by Katung Aduwak ‎after winning other 11 house mates in a 3month tussle,  performing both mental and physical tasks   and went home with a 100,000 dollar prize with other juicy packages.

Big Brother Naija 2017 will be sponsored by PayPorte, an online retail store.‎

Airing is to commence on January 22 on DStv Channel 198.
