1. Kunle Afolayan was brought into the world on 30 September 1974 in Kwara State, Nigeria. He is of Igbomina-Yoruba tribe.

3. His sister is the Nigerian entertainer and maker, Moji Afolayan and his two brothers in the movie industry; Gabriel Afolayan is the younger brother of Kunle and Aremu Afolayan. He is one of the key actors in many Nollywood movies. He rose to fame after playing the role of ‘Akin’ in Super Story Series titled ‘Nnenna’. Aremu Afolayan is equally involved in acting like his brothers. He is also an award-winning director and entrepreneur.
