By Misery Uncovered! Lagos SARS Arrests Impersonating Officers, Orders Residents Not To Snap Pictures
BlackBox Nigeria was moments ago briefed about an incident which occured at Ota Ona in Ikorodu on Wednesday when residents alerted Police about some impostors who have been swindling artisans in the area.
BBN gathered that the impostors have been parading themselves as operating officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and collecting illegal fees from artisans, including mechanics and shop owners in the area until they met their waterloo.
An eyewitness stated that it took the intervention of an Armed Force Officer to get SARS operatives from Ipakodo Police Station who eventually ambushed the impostors and got them arrested. But the residents are concerned of the absurd action of the officers after the arrest was made.
It was gathered that the residents were ordered to stay away from the suspects and were not allowed to use camera phones to snap/video them. This development have however generated reactions from some of them as they suggest the suspects may be released into the community again.
