The people of Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Friday, played host to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who visited the ancient town to commission roads.
The projects were facilitated by the lawmaker representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the National Assembly and Chairman of the House Committee on Defence, Rep. Babajimi Benson.
The laudable intervention included the construction of 5 link roads in the Sabo area of Ikorodu, as well as 3 other link roads with solar-powered street lights.
These roads include Ayangbadejo street, Kaz Avenue, Ajebirigbon street, Nike Olubodun street and Ajoke Oduyebo street. Others are Police Barracks link road, Ademoye street, Igbamitayo street and Alashe street roads in Ikorodu central.
Gbajabiamila was full of praises for the lawmaker, while congratulating the people of Ikorodu for being beneficiaries of the projects.
“I am here to support Rep. Babajimi Benson and the people of Ikorodu on the commissioning of these roads. I am happy when my members are doing well and Rep. Benson is doing well. He has proven himself as a good representative, even in Abuja,” he said.
In his remarks, Benson thanked the Speaker for his support, saying he greatly assisted in the facilitation of impactful projects to Ikorodu Division.
The event had in attendance traditional rulers led by the paramount ruler of the Ikorodu division, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, APC Lagos State Chairman-Elect, party leaders, officials of the Lagos State Government, community stakeholders and leaders and residents.
