In the spirit of the International Women’s Day which was marked on Tuesday, March 8, a young lawyer has melted the hearts of many after he celebrated his mother who he saw on the streets hawking.
Taking to his Twitter page, the lawyer identified as NOBLEMAN, shared the story alongside pictures of he and his mother with her goods placed on her head.
He wrote, “So today being the International women’s day I ran into my mother on the street. I love you.”
Expressing hopes that in the nearest future, his mum will stop street hawking, he said, “I know with time you’ll stop Hawking (but u go stop so) Happy IWD y’all beaurii ladies out there.”
Reactions have since trailed the post as some social media users gave their own personal experiences with their mothers. See a few reactions below:
@akpos_kenneth wrote, “Hmmm. I remembered when I asked my mum to stop selling ice fish, though in her own case was that she sells inside the market. That was 6months after I got my 1st job after NYSC, “wetin I go come dey do for house now” that was I response!”
@naturalboifilmz wrote, “I stopped my mom from working since 2017, placed her on monthly salary, later made it weekly. It was one of the most difficult decision have ever made but I did it and God has been faithful since then.”
@walmart1805 recalled, “Lol this reminds me of my grandmother. She was a farmer & palmy seller. My dad and the rest siblings told her not to go to farm again. She replied “this farming keeps me alive, sitting one place can get me killed”💔Lol we sha stop her and celebrate her 85 BD. She died months after.”
@Rhumeey, however, noted, “And a camera was readily available for that? It’s actually good to identify with your mother… But I didn’t think a camera would be somewhere waiting to capture a random totally unplanned moment.”
