The war of words which might later escalate into a feud arose between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky intensified yesterday when Trump called Zelensky a “dictator,” accusing him of using U.S. funds to fuel the ongoing war with Russia.

In a provocative post on social media, Trump claimed that Ukraine’s conflict with Russia was more of a European issue than an American one, dismissing the importance of Ukraine’s security to the United States.

Trump’s comments, also ignored Russia’s territorial seizures in 2014 and its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

He further stated that the U.S. should not be involved, given the “big, beautiful ocean” that separates America from the European continent.

The dispute flared up following peace talks in Saudi Arabia that excluded Ukraine, with Trump suggesting that Ukraine was responsible for the war’s onset.

Zelensky quickly fired back, accusing Trump of being “caught in a web of disinformation” and undermining Ukraine’s efforts in the conflict.

The escalating exchange highlights growing tensions over the future of U.S. involvement in the war.
