Nigerians have called out movie producer, Yomi Fabiyi after he released a movie inspired by the Baba Ijesha rape saga.
The movie, titled “Oko Iyabo” adopts the real name of those involved in the case.
Many lashed at the filmmaker as the movie painted the picture of the minor having an affair with Baba Ijesha.
Blackbox Nigeria reported earlier that the Lagos State police command arrested Baba Ijesha for allegedly raping a minor.
Nigerian comedian, actress Damilola Adekoya, who is popularly known as Princess, revealed she was the guardian of the 14-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by Baba Ijesha.
The Lagos State Police spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said preliminary findings revealed that the suspect allegedly began sexually assaulting the victim, 14 since she was 7-years-old.
Princess later clarified that her colleague only raped the minor twice “and not for seven years as the police claimed”.
Lagos State High Court in Ikeja on Thursday, June 24, granted Baba Ijesha bail.
He was first granted bail on May 17 — after spending about 25 days in police detention — by magistrates in charge of prison decongestion.
